Beerphoria

Beerphoria, otherwise known as "beer euphoria" is that moment when your first sip of beer crosses over eager lips, hits your tastebuds, and time stops.

Flavors, textures, aromas, and all imagined heavenly indulgences have converged upon your person at that moment. Nothing else matters. Trivial earthly concerns disappear. Only your senses aflame with the flavor of life are present. No moment could be more perfect. No beer could rival the one cupped oh-so-gently in reverent hands.

The first sip is soon followed by a second and now it feels as though time is flowing backwards. As with all things transcendent, no amount of descriptive power could ever properly evoke such a euphoric rush of taste awareness. In that moment you taste Life, and she is beer.

It goes without saying that such an inspirational glass is of a quality pedigree, but the rest is up to the beer, the imbiber, and a little bit of luck. I've had quite a few moments myself, but my beerphoria may not be yours. Each beerphoria is unique to the beer and the person. Time, place, atmosphere, and mood are just as integral as the beer being savored in that culminative moment.

She is an elusive and fickle paradise, but we shall meet again. I don't know when, where, how, and with what beer, but as infinite as my beer choices are, so too are my moments of beerphoria.
